Class News and Information:

The Mother of God School Physical Education Program seeks to help students appreciate Christ’s presence in themselves and others as they use and develop their physical gifts.

Conducted in our beautiful gymnasium and on our spacious outdoor fields, our program encourages psychomotor learning in a play or movement exploration setting.  A variety of activities are incorporated for children to learn to compete vigorously, while maintaining a spirit of good sportsmanship.

Both in our P.E. program and our recess play time, our children are taught to be gentle in victory and gracious in defeat.  Our P.E. program is coupled with the mission of the Archdiocesan CYO athletic program – “linked to parish life, CYO offers young people, coaches and their families [an] opportunity to work together in communion, showing the world a new vision of “competition” in sports.”

We teach children the true meaning of Christian competition (from the Latin competere "strive in common," from com- "together” + petere "to strive).

Together, in the spirit of mutual respect and cooperation, our students are encouraged to strive in P.E.  “to help our neighbor as ourselves become the best we can be”.
